November Give-Away

I just can't wait anymore. My memory card reader still isn't working, and I haven't made it to the store to get a new one yet, so these photos from the Internet will have to do.

This month, I'm thrilled to give away this apron from Anthropologie. I bought one for myself last month, and I liked it so much, I went back and got another one for the give-away. It's a nice canvas-ish material. And I love the green button! If you win the give-away, we'll be apron twins!

I'm also including a set of two little cookie cutters: a gingerbread boy and a gingerbread girl. Or, if you want to be completely PC, two gingerbread people, one of whom appears to be wearing a dress or skirt. They're not exactly like the ones in this picture. And they're small (three inches maybe).

Here's how to enter:
Leave a comment or send me an email telling me the name of your favorite Christmas song, movie, or book. Enter by midnight on Saturday, November 14. Karl and I will draw a winner on Sunday. It could be you!

I love the "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" song. It was always a sure way for my little brother and I to annoy my mom during the holidays. We would crank the volume and dance and sing to it in the living room over and over again. I'm sending him a care package in Iraq for Christmas complete with the song so he can still sing it!

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. I love aprons and cookies and making cookies in aprons with cookie cutters!
1. Christmas song: Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey (Hee-haw, hee-HAW!)
2. Christmas movie: A Muppet Family Christmas (best EVER! The Swedish Chef mistakes Big Bird for a turkey and hilarity ensues).
3. Christmas book: Twas the Night Before Christmas

Hurray for Christmas!

My favorite holiday music of them all is John Denver and the Muppets' "A Christmas Together", followed closely by the Vince Guaraldi Trio's "A Charlie Brown Christmas." It's not Christmas without either!

There is a Danish rap song called "Jul det er cool" (can you guess what that means?) which I just love for some reason. On a more traditional note, I love all the standard carols and I miss when I used to go caroling with choir friends in high school. Fa la la la la...

SO CUTE!
Okay, but I want to whine because I'm not thinking about Christmas yet, so I'm having problems deciding a song, movie OR book. I guess I'll go with the old stand-by, "Silent Night" by candlelight at a midnight service.

Thanks for the book reccomendation Amanda, I will definitely check it out...I was sort of hoping people would steer me towards travel/cooking books I hadn't read yet. Perfect!

I love the movie White Christmas and John Denver's "Please Daddy, don't get drunk this Christmas" will always have a special place in my heart because I thought it was the funniest song EVER when I was a child. Now I know its actually the saddest...oh well.
