March Give-Away

Yes, friends, it's time. Time for the great spring give-away here at Team Struckmeyer! One lucky entrant will receive:

This kitchen timer from Anthropologie. I have had my eye on these for a long time, so I finally bought one for myself... and one for you! I chose this pretty blue, but I'll send along the gift receipt in case you would rather have red, yellow, or orange.

This classic Easter book, The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes by DuBose Heyward. This hardcover version comes with a special golden necklace. Perfect for tucking in an Easter basket!

If you haven't seen this book before, trust me when I say that you are going to love it. Here are some sneak peeks inside...

Enter by leaving a comment telling me your favorite Easter tradition or book or food or... well, anything favorite and Easter-ish. I'll choose a winner randomly this weekend, so enter by Friday night!

Staying in a nunnery. Just joking.
It was always searching for my Easter Basket on Easter morning - although now I get to hide them instead! I love hiding them in the trickiest spots that no one can find.

Well, first there's the answer any Christian will give you: the Resurrection. ;)

But, I'm also a fan of the cheesy potato casserole that makes its appearance every Easter and hiding my kids' Easter baskets!

I love decorating easter eggs! Especially coloring on the eggs with a crayon before dropping them in the dye.

Last year I enjoyed a delicious Easter pie that had about 10 pounds of nuts on it. That was a good Easter memory! :)

I already won once, so don't enter me in your drawing, but I will tell you my awesome fam's easter tradition!

Many years ago my dad built me a hard core professional looking disc golf basket to toss around discs in the backyard. He gave it to me for Easter. So almost every year since then (if there is no snow on the ground) we throw some discs around and pose for a photo opp with some discs!

My favorite Easter tradition is from when I was a child - my mom would sneak into our rooms once we were asleep and she would hide a bunch of plastic Easter eggs filled with candy in our rooms. We loved waking up on Easter morning and hunting for all of our candy. It's something I hope to do for my own children one day.

I love the kitchen timer! Mine broke, but it was an ugly one anyway. This one is so cute!

Thanks!

Church on Easter morning. Easter dinner. The green, green spring grass with daffodils in it. Hiding eggs in the yard for my kids.

We love the story of the Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes, so very much. And the timer is ph so sweet. How thoughtful of you to do a spring giveaway, dear lady.

For years my mom would set up our Easter baskets on the dining room table with all our eggs and candy and goodies. The best part was that she would make little rabbit prints around the baskets and on the table so it looked like the Easter bunny had been traipsing around. So cute.

My favorite Easter story: When I was about four my Uncle Paul dressed up as the Easter Bunny and planned to stop by our house on Easter morning to surprise my brother and me. He parked his car at the top of my street, slyly hiding it so we didn't know it was indeed him. On the walk down the hill to our house he enjoyed a brisk morning cigarette- hey, it was the early seventies. Imagine everyone's horror when my neighborhood friend Nikki Mattson and her little sister burst out of their front door and chased my uncle down the block. Nikki was screaming "Don't smoke, Easter Bunny, don't smoke, you're going to die" They chased him all the way to our house, where he promised them he would quit and barely escaped to the safety of our home. So my first memory of Easter was that of a cigarette smoking out-of-breath Easter Bunny who made my bestfriend Nikki cry. Nice.
