Arlo Guthrie in Concert!

Last night, my mom and Karl and I went to see Arlo Guthrie at the Barrymore Theater right here in Madison. It was so so so so good! Here we are before the show... I wasn't going to post this picture because when I looked at it, the first thing I said was, "I have got to start wearing makeup." But if you read my blog then I'm sure you know me in person and you've seen me looking much worse. So here ya go:

Karl is so photogenic. And he was wearing makeup. No, not really.

I took about 20 blurry photos of Arlo. This is the best of them. Totally doesn't do him justice. And we weren't even far back in the theater; we had awesome seats. So just believe me when I say that he sounded fantastic, looked great, and totally engaged the crowd. And his wife was sitting two rows ahead of us.

An added bonus was going out for Thai food beforehand. The leftovers were my lunch! Lucky me!

Bucky Rocks the Hiz-ouse

Karl and I went to the UW football game on Saturday against Ohio State. Ohio was ranked #1... but that was before they took on the Badgers.
I had never been to a real football game until Karl and I started dating. And let me tell you, they are totally fun. I don't really even understand football, but I love seeing all of the fans (especially the student section), the cheerleaders, and the band. Oh, and the Bucky mascot, of course.

At the beginning of the game, the band and cheerleaders all line up to welcome the team onto the field. There's so much energy in the stadium!

The moment the Badgers won, the crowd went completely wild. Everyone rushed onto the field, despite the announcer's warnings: (totally deadpan voice) "Please remove yourself from the playing field." It was so fun to be on the field celebrating with everyone.
Don't worry, the goalposts didn't break. Apparently the stadium is equipped with unbreakable ones because this type of scene isn't exactly rare...

Ride the Drive!

This weekend, my friend Amanda and I checked out an event called Ride the Drive. It was so fun! The city closed a bunch of streets (I'm sure drivers were thrilled), and tons of people biked around. There were booths with cool activities like screen printing and hula hoop making, and some totally awesome musical groups were performing along the way.

Amanda and I had to try this vegetable slalom course!

Of course, the Wienermobile was there. We got to go inside... take a look at the details! The dashboard is even shaped like a hot dog. Sweet!

Lance Armstrong was at Ride the Drive, but we didn't see him. We were probably going so fast that he couldn't catch us!
